Basketball Camp... 07/14/2008
8 Comments

Basketball Camp started in Ballycullen today!  We had a great opening day.  About 25 kids showed up from 9-14, and we split them into three groups to work on different skills levels.  I am helping to lead the 9-10 year olds with Paul, one of the college students from the States.  It was amazing to see them improve in even one day!

It's going to be a fun two weeks.  The whole team of college students have been fun to work with, and I'm making some new Irish friends almost every day.  You can see me pictured above with Sarah and Ailis (pronounced A-lish).  We laugh and have a lot of fun together.

My first Sunday was exciting too.  Many were away on holiday, but I got to see several friends I had made while visiting in January.  They were glad to see me and told me that they have been praying and praying for me to finally arrive.

So all in all...I'm excited to be here and each day feeling more and more at home.  I miss you all at home too!  Thanks for all the notes, blog comments, and facebook wall messages!

Well, it's not quite "Big Orange" orange, but it will have to do :) And THAT is the smile we are all used to seeing!

Ailis--cool name.

Have a great camp!

Love you and miss you!

What a great report. I was so excited to see an update and a new picture of you with your new friends. I am praying for you and missing you so much. I'm happy for those in Ireland who will have the privilege of getting to know such a wonderful person. I love you.

This orange is definitely your color! So much better than the Vol's orange.

Your mom's post made me tear up...praying for her.

Praying for a kindred spirit....

Enjoy the b-ball camp - I'm sure the kids are loving you! Try not to break anything - minor sprains are allowed, it will get you some sympathy votes. :-) Praying for you!!

You are quickly becoming part of the culture. You are already talking about being on "holiday" instead of vacation!!!
